Jane Couroussopoulos

Paintbox Tutor & Artist

I studied painting and printmaking (etching and engraving) at City and Guilds of London Art School, but concentrated on painting after I left, rather letting the printmaking go a bit, which I regret. Over the last ten years or so my practice has moved into mixed media drawing, partly as a result of teaching drawing and the back and forth with students that comes with that – one of the reasons I love teaching!. However, I plan to get back to oil painting again in the near future.

I have taught for Edinburgh City Council, Leith School of Art,
and workshops at Paintbox over the past few years.

I’m really excited to be joining the regular teaching team from September 23, with the new year long Drawing Course. When I’m not teaching or working on my own work, I spend a lot of time walking Poppy my dog and cooking Greek food. Me and my other half are also responsible for our tenement’s back green and have got quite into gardening which has been a bit hit and miss! I also spend every available holiday time back in Greece.
