Following the random marks and colours of multi-layered grounds derived from previously failed paintings, this body of work focuses on vessels and the occasional emerging serendipity of organic shapes.

Whilst moving into new studio premises and discovering several old pieces of art during packing and tidying, the use of these as foundation surfaces tries to reflect our leaner economic climate of crisper resources together with the ability to generate and breathe a second life into otherwise discarded items.

Whilst creating this body of work I have discovered that recycling and up-cycling  “grey into colour” is both rewarding and worthwhile.
