Paintbox Registrar, Catering Aficionado & Artist

My name is Lynsey Connachan and I am Paintbox Co-founder and Business Manager. I handle all queries, bookings/communication and make sure everything runs smoothly behind the scenes! I’m also always on hand to help support students and make sure they get the most out of their Paintbox experience. I love to see students develop, progress and exceed their goals, and being a part of their journey is very special to me.

I studied Urban and Regional Planning at Heriot Watt University. I thoroughly enjoyed my degree, in particular the design modules, which tapped into my creative side!

On leaving university, I attended a number of evening art classes to fit in with working full time, and this fuelled my passion to work in a creative role permanently. I had a number of years of experience in Arts Administration before joining forces to establish Paintbox School of Art with Co-founder and best friend, Jemma Derbyshire. I’m delighted to now work with such a fantastic team of people at Paintbox, who all have their own individual voices and talents, adding so much to my own experience of working alongside them!

A little bit more about me…

I love the outdoors and walking my lovely dog (Henry) in the woodlands. I enjoy finding, drawing and learning about fungi. I love all things art and music related! I’m also printmaker in my spare time, taking inspiration from walking in the landscape and being surrounded by nature.
