The garden acted not only as a huge source of inspriation for decades for Artists, but also it acts as a place joy and solace for many. Inspired by the colour, light, and life radiate that a sense of quiet heroism, many Artists place emphasis on the inordinate beauty presented to us by our garden spaces.
Using the joyful summer gardens and allotments surrounding our studio, and also a trip to Amisfield Garden nearby, we will spend time exploring colour, form, light and shade.
We will look at ‘visual note taking’ by way of sketches, gathering colour information as well as considering how to develop and harmonise our own colour palettes.
Each week, we will work on paintings ‘en plein aire’ allowing each participant to leave with a series of ‘garden memories’ on board.
